The salesman came home late one night after a game of cards.
When he opened the front door he found his wife sitting up on the couch
with a very cross expression on her face. "You said you'd be home by
11:45," she exclaimed, "and here it is 3am already! I've been worried
sick about you!"
"But you misunderstood, dear," the salesman replied as he sprang his trap. "I'm right on time! I told you I'd be home by a quarter of twelve and here I am!"
Moral of the story. True sales professionals know that in order to be successful in sales they need to be in sync with their customers. If your timing with prospects is consistently off, your sales will be too.
