A salesman was lying in a hospital bed, covered in bandages from
head to toe. The guy in the next bed said what do you do for a living?"
The bandaged salesman replied: "I used to sell skyscrapers and tall office towers."
"Oh," replied the second man. "When did you give it up?"
"About halfway down," the salesman replied.
Moral of the story. True sales professionals know that there will be ups and downs in all industries. While some industry swings will be more dramatic than others, successful sales reps realize that those who survive a downturn will have more market to themselves during the recovery. Those who never give up, regardless of the economy, don't just survive, they thrive!

"A perfect storm is in the making: financial uncertainty, economic
downturn, government cuts, rising unemployment and a future that looks
less clear the more we try to fathom it."
