As the crowded elevator descended, Mrs. Wilson became increasingly
annoyed with her husband, a salesman, who was delighted to be pressed
against a gorgeous blonde.
As the elevator stopped at the main floor, the blonde suddenly
whirled, slapped Mr. Wilson, and said, "That will teach you to pinch!"
Bewildered, the salesman was halfway to the parking lot with his wife when he choked, "I ---- I ----- didn't pinch that girl."
"Of course you didn't," said his wife, consolingly. "I did."
Moral of the story. As a sales professional your career will have
several ups and downs. However, when you're on an crowded elevator stay
focused on the task at hand. You should be thinking about "pitches"
not "pinches." Make sure that your elevator pitch is polished. You
never want to feel that cold hard slap of reality your career might
receive if your "pitch" is not well timed, positioned or received.
