Sales Joke of the Day (March 13) Too Real Estate.

The aggressive real estate agent worked hard to get her latest listing.  The competition was fierce, but her reputation for quick deals made all the difference.

Her latest listing had a basement suite with a separate kitchen that could be accessed by using a lift chair that slid along the staircase.  Quickly describing this feature with her usual flair, she inadvertently made it sound even more attractive as her first open house was swamped with married males between the ages of 35 and 60.

Her ad read:    "Mother-in-law suite comes with an electric chair."

Moral of the story.   True sales professionals know the AIDA principal cold.   Attention, Interest, Desire, Action.    Note that without getting your prospect's attention, you never get your sales cycle started.    Often the best sales rep in an industry, market or region, becomes the best because they have differentiated themselves from the rest of the pack in a positive way.   You can do the same.  Just stay away from the 'shock' and 'awww, no shock' approach.

"It's tangible, it's solid, it's beautiful.  It's artistic, from my standpoint, and I just love real estate."                                        -    Donald Trump
