Sales Joke of the Day (March 15) The Game.

Finally after years of slaving away selling computer software, the salesman landed his dream job of selling computer games.  His first day of work involved trying out and getting to know the company's full product line.   A few hours into the training, the salesman decided to list some of his sales plans and potential new prospects in a spreadsheet program.

At that moment his sales manager walked by.

He looked at the salesman's screen for a moment, and then said sternly, "I'd better not catch you using spreadsheets on company time when you know you should be playing games!"

Moral of the story.  True sales professionals know that in order to succeed they have to plan their day, allocate their time effectively and stay focused on the task at hand.   Unless of course, what's "at hand" is a controller.  Game or managerial, it will tell you what to do.

"You have to learn the rules of the game.  And then you have to play better than anyone else."                                                -   Albert Einstein
